Conveniently located to serve residents in Sussex County, Cancer Support Community is located on the Beebe Health Campus (Rt. 24) in the Medical Arts Building. There is ample parking available and the facility is handicapped accessible. Our office suite is bright and welcoming with all the comforts of home. Visit our library for up-to-date resources; relax in our Mind/Body Center; or join us for a cup of tea and cookies in our kitchen. We’re always glad to see you!

Renew Your Palette
Saturday, March 10, 2012 , 10 am until 1 pm
The Cancer Support Community Delaware (formerly The Wellness Community) is joining hands with The Salvation Army Developmental Disabilities Program and the Rehoboth Beach Boys and Girls Club for a very special event, Renew Your Palette . . . Art for the Mind, Food for the Soul. This combination of art show/sale and gourmet food demonstrations is an experience that will feed your entire body. Some of our talented artists will be available to discuss their interpretation of this year’s theme of “Hope.â€

The event will be held from 10am to 1pm at the Cancer Support Community Delaware located at 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Suite 312.

Admission is free, but a $5 donation at the door offers the opportunity to acquire commemorative original artwork. For more information, contact Lily Gosnear at (302) 645-9150 or via email.

Disney Wine & Dine
Orlando, Florida - November 9 and 10, 2012

Please join our Strides for Hope Team for 2012 as you raise funds and awareness for Cancer Support Community Delaware in Disney - Orlando, Florida in September. You will commit to raising funds for our organization to help support free programs for people diagnosed with cancer. All funds raised in Delaware stay in Delaware!

We will supply you with the following:
� Airfare to Orlando, Florida
� Transportation to and from hotel
� On Site Hotel Room
� Race Event Registration
� Training Assistance
� Training Shirt/Race Shirt
� Team Pasta Dinner

5K Race Start - Animal Kingdom, 7am start
1/2 Marathon & 1/2 Marathon Relay
Start 10pm
ESPN Zone to Animal Kingdom, further onto Disney Hollywood Studios, and onto Epcot for the finish!

Register before 2/29/12 and receive a credit toward your goal!

Breast Cancer Support Group
First Thursday of the month at 3:30pm
Facilitated by Clare Wilson, the Breast Cancer Support Group encourages survivors to meet, share experiences and seek support from other survivors.

Look Good…Feel Better
Third Monday of the month at 1pm (January, March, May, July, September, November) and at 5pm (February, April, June, August, October, December)
This program which is sponsored by the American Cancer Society, NC and CFTA Foundation, teaches skin care and hair care techniques for women undergoing cancer treatment.

Meditation for Relaxation
First and Third Thursday of the month at 5pm
Clare Wilson invites you to experience the health benefits of meditation and how it reduces stress and enhances breathing, focus and relaxation.

Nanticoke General Support Group
Third Monday of the month at 3:30pm
A forum for cancer survivors and their loved ones to share and discuss their cancer diagnosis. This group is facilitated by Clare Wilson, LCSW.

Stiff Men's Yoga
Thursdays at 3:30pm
For any guy who wants to increase his energy and mobility. Taught by Reber Whitner.

T'ai Chi
Thursdays at 11:45am
Integrate mind, body and spirit using techniques developed by the ancient Chinese. You feel revitalized by T'ai Chi's relaxing, rhythmic movements. Classes are open only to people currently undergoing treatment for cancer and their family members and individuals two years out of treatment or less.

The Next Step
Second Tuesday of the month at 9am and 3rd Tuesday at 10am (Nanticoke)
Our monthly bereavement group focuses on issues of loss that continue beyond the early stages of grief. Facilitated by Mary Van House, Bereavement Coordinator, Compassionate Care Hospice.

Yoga
Wednesdays at 12:00pm
Increase your flexibility and strength, reduce stress, and enhance relaxation using gentle Yoga techniques. This is a perfect class for beginners! Classes are open only to people currently undergoing treatment for cancer and their family members and individuals two years out of treatment or less.






Breakaway from Cancer is a complementary component to the Amgen Tour of California to raise awareness and funds to support valuable services and programs, provided to people living with cancer. Learn more here...
